Chronicle of Hotel AlpenblickAfter a major fire in 1912, Anna Vogelbacher built the first part of today's "Alpenblick" and set up a general shop in it.


Max Kaiser acquired the property and opened a farm and a bakery in the "Alpenblick" in 1916.

1921

Marriage of the daughter of master baker Kaiser to the later hotelier Bernhard Porten, opening of the "Café und Weinstube Alpenblick", ancestral home of the Porten family

1936/37

Conversion of the "Alpenblick" into a hotel

1954

Hotelier and master baker Max Porten, son of Bernhard Porten, takes over the "Alpenblick"

1964

Opening of the "Hotzenstube", today's "St.-Georg-Stube"

1977

Opening of the "Badener Stube"

1978

Extensive renovation

1991

The hotel was destroyed by a major fire, only the outer walls were preserved

1992

Construction & reopening with new conference room

2000

Sale of the Hotel Alpenblick from Max Porten to the Ferdinand & Renate Thoma family

2003

The Thoma family acquires the neighbouring property at Poststrasse 12, formerly the "Huber-Haus", now a wellness building and suite house with a connecting corridor to the wellness building

In planning: redesign of car park with construction of technical cellar and carports with photovoltaics for the production of hydrogen in stock for heating or construction of a hydrogen-powered combined heat and power plant.

Goal: Expansion/elimination of the old oil heating systems.
