Höchenschwand

Höchenschwand in the Black Forest is located in the south-west of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, between Schluchsee and Waldshut and in the immediate vicinity of Switzerland. At 1015 metres above sea level, Höchenschwand is Germany's highest climatic health resort and is affectionately known by guests and residents as the "village in the sky". In suitable weather conditions, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Alps from here in the Black Forest.

 
 

Southern Black Forest Nature Park

The Southern Black Forest Nature Park is the second largest nature park in Germany. The area of the nature park covers an area as large as the holiday island of Majorca. For many animals and plants, the forests, numerous moors, damp and wet meadows, rocky landscapes and the many bodies of water are ideal habitats with many areas of retreat. A great diversity of species can be found in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. The endangered hazel grouse and capercaillie are native to the southern Black Forest. There are now even a few lynx living in the Southern Black Forest again.

Due to its special location in different climatic regions and the different types of bedrock, you will find a particularly rich variety of flora in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park.
